Mountain Photography Workshop

By April 9, 2013 6 Comments

Pre dawn light on Mount Sefton and Mueller Hut. One of the workshop locations.

In May this year I’m running a four-day mountain photography workshop for the NZ Alpine Club, based out of Unwin Lodge at Aoraki Mount Cook National Park

We’ll be covering a lot of material over the four days: equipment, shooting in alpine environments, technique and composition, post processing – as well as heading to some dramatic locations.

For more details check out the NZAC’s art workshops.

    Hi,
I am interested in your mountain workshop but not sure that I have the requisite skills to be termed an intermediate photographer. I used to be quite keen on photography but have been away from it for years until recent purchase of an Olympus OM D. I have a rudimentary understanding of light and composition but just learning how to use the camera. I don’t want to be a drag on your other students. Your thoughts please.
    Regards,
    Paul Corridon

      Hi Paul,
Thanks for your interest in the course. Unfortunately the NZAC have had to cancel due to lack of bookings. We’ll be aiming to run this workshop again in winter, at the same location hopefully. Though possibly one day shorter.
Past courses have included participants with just basic camera knowledge, so I’m sure we’d be able to cater to your skill set and ensure that you got plenty from the course.
If you’re interested I can offer one-on-one private tuition. Either in Christchurch or in an alpine location.
      Cheers,
      Mark.

Sorry to hear that, I thought your course would be a good way to jump start myself back into photography. You’ve got my email above so please keep me in mind if another course does get scheduled. I’m not sure how I feel about a private class and I think I would need more than 1 day to assimilate as much as I need to learn, but I’m open to most anything.
    Regards,
    Paul
