Back in the Peak

By September 22, 2010No Comments

Eight years after we were last here we’re now back living in Sheffield, South Yorkshire for the next few months. The plan is to work as much as possible to save money for a few more months of travel (probably cycle touring in China and SE Asia) on our way back to NZ.

So far it’s working out well: we’re back living largely rent-free with the generous Chris and Louise (and kids Rachel and Kathryn); I’m working part time in an outdoor store, doing a bit of design work and some odds and ends for a climbing wall company; and Hana is back to sewing some very cool stuff and picking up lots of local odd jobs. With low overheads and Tescos beans for 30p we reckon we might be able to pull it together for a few more months on the road.

It’s not all work though and living on the edge of UK’s biggest national park, the Peak District there’s a lifetime’s worth of gritstone to climb and some cool rambling trails to ride. We’ll keep ya posted!

In the meantime, here’s some shot of the local landscapes…
