Berg Lake, Mt Robson

Goat guardianA half day’s drive out of Kamloops and we were cruising into Mt Robson Provincial Park – on the edge of the Rockies and home to Canada’s highest mountain, yes… Mt Robson. A quick trip into the visitor centre revealed a sweet looking ride that climbed 700m over 23 km up to Berg Lake – a high alpine lake fed by glaciers on the flanks of Robson. We made it about 18km in before the track began to entail a lot of pushing, but still got high enough to check out some glaciers, gorges, the odd waterfall and some stunning back country mountain biking…
